KRunner needs a dictionary plugin. Work flow:

  1. alt + f2
  2. type “define “
  3. ctrl + v
  4. awe at simplicity

While we’re at it, a translation plugin would be nice too.

I will make the dictionary runner. Standby.

he is using some website that are really useful for translators but also for every other person.

maybe you can also use it for the define part of the new runner.

i would love a translation plugin for krunner.

    thanks for your work.

There is already a good translate runner.

Besides, we already have a good dictionary widget. I think the runner should use the same backend as the widget. Although adding support for additional backends for the widget and runner might be worthwhile.

  2. I wish KRunner could be made location aware based on geolocation; that way when I “gg:chinese food near me”
google would show only my local results. That is actually a terrible example because google main site seems to be already location aware, and the 3rd or 4th result down is the local buisness results.

maybe something like “flickr: photos taken near me” and it will ask flickr to search for published photos near me.

Not exactly the same, but krunner is web-shortcut aware: just type
    webster:word
on krunner and konqueror will open with the Merriam-Webster definition.
There are other dictionaries predefined on konqueror (for a Spanish word, use rae)
