  1. David Edmundson says:

    Calm down! Qt’s not going anywhere, Qt did fine before Meego, it will do fine afterwards.

    Spreading panic is only going to make things harder for Trolltech/Qt rather than help it.

    @david edmundson:

    Sir,

    Have you read the news?

    Thanks,
    Management

    With the strategic partnership, Qt will become dead weight and Nokia is known to “disappear” projects and subcontractors whenever they feel like it.

    Since hearing the news I have come to the conclusion that I no longer trust Nokias intentions and everything possible should be done to sever the bonds.

    N900 owner and as of today Android developer

  4. STiAT says:

    Well, calm down. The only thing which will be interesting is how Intel and other parties (Adobe etc.) decide about this, which will greatly be of interest for the future of Qt and MeeGo.
    I doubt that Nokia will \kill\ Qt, they will rather sell it. It’s a valuable asset, and with the strategy no loner a need for Nokia.

    A former N900, x6, n8, c7 owner and now Android owner as well. My first non-nokia device in 15 years, what a shame.

    It’s quite obvious that Nokia has no *real* interest in Qt anymore. At least not in the mid term. …And we yet have to see what major workforce cut-downs are ahead!

    I really hope Intel will buy Qt Software and will be the real master of MeeGo before the big lay-off wave is hitting Qt Software. In the long term Intel will be a much better corporation to have influence on Qt Softwares strategic decisions.
